পরিচ্ছেদঃ ২৩৪: জিহাদ ওয়াজিব এবং তাতে সকাল-সন্ধ্যার মাহাত্ম্য
৫২/১৩৪৪। সালামাহ ইবনে আকওয়া’ রাদিয়াল্লাহু আনহু হতে বর্ণিত, তিনি বলেন, নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম তীর নিক্ষেপে রত একদল লোকের নিকট দিয়ে অতিক্রম করার সময় বললেন, “হে ইসমাইলের সন্তানেরা। তোমরা তীর নিক্ষেপ কর। কারণ, তোমাদের (আদি) পিতা (ইসমাইল) তীরন্দাজ ছিলেন।” (বুখারী) [1]
(234) بَابُ فَضْلِ الْـجِهَادِ
وَعَن سَلَمَةَ بنِ الأكَوَعِ رضي الله عنه، قَالَ: مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى نَفَرٍ يَنْتَضِلُونَ، فَقَالَ: «ارْمُوا بَنِي إِسمعِيلَ، فَإِنَّ أَبَاكُمْ كَانَ رَامِياً». رواه البخاري
(234) Chapter: Obligation of Jihad
Salamah bin Al-Akwa (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Prophet (ﷺ) happened to pass by a group of people who were having a shooting match. (Upon seeing them, he (ﷺ)) said, "Shoot, O sons of (Prophet) Isma'il, for your father was an archer."
[Al- Bukhari].
Commentary: Arabs are also called Banu Isma`il because they are the descendants of Prophet Ibrahim's son, Isma`il. This is the reason that Prophet Ibrahim is reckoned an ancestor of the Prophet (PBUH) for his being his descendant.
