পরিচ্ছেদঃ ১১৭: সাদা কাপড় পরা উত্তম। লাল, সবুজ, হলুদ এবং কালো রঙের কাপড় পরাও বৈধ। আর রেশম ব্যতিত সুতি, উল, পশমি ইত্যাদি সবরকমের কাপড় পরা জায়েজ।
২/৭৮৪। সামুরাহ রাদিয়াল্লাহু ’আনহু হতে বর্ণিত, তিনি বলেন, রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেন, ’’তোমরা সাদা রঙের কাপড় পরিধান কর। কেননা, তা সবচেয়ে পবিত্র ও উৎকৃষ্ট। আর ওতেই তোমাদের মৃতদেরকে কাফন দাও।’’ (নাসাঈ, হাকেম, তিনি বলেন হাদীসটি সহীহ)[1]
(117) - باب استحباب الثوب الأبيض وجواز الأحمر والأخضر والأصفر والأسود وجوازه من قطن وكتان وشعر وصوف وغيرها إلا الحرير
وَعَن سَمُرَةَ رضي الله عنه، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صلى الله عليه وسلم: اِلْبَسُوا البَيَاضَ ؛ فَإنَّهَا أَطْهَرُ وَأطْيَبُ، وَكَفِّنُوا فِيهَا مَوْتَاكُمْ ». رواه النسائي والحاكم، وقال: حديث صحيح »
(117) Chapter: The Excellence of Wearing White Clothes and the Permissibility of Wearing Red, Green, Yellow and Black Clothes Made from Cotton and Linen but not Silk
Samurah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, 'Wear white clothes because they are the purest and they are closest to modesty; and shroud the dead in it."
[An- Nasa'i and Al-Hakim].
Commentary: Both these Ahadith tell us that white clothes are fine and likeable and are especially recommended on Fridays and on all other occasions except on `Eid days where new clothes, if any, are recommended. The purity and beauty of this colour befits the dignity and honour of man.
