পরিচ্ছেদঃ ৭৫: মার্জনা করা এবং মূর্খদেরকে এড়িয়ে চলার বিবরণ
৪/৬৫১। ইবনে মাসঊদ রাদিয়াল্লাহু ’আনহু বলেন, আমি যেন (এখনো) রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লামকে নবীদের মধ্যে এক নবীর ঘটনা বর্ণনা করতে দেখছি, তাঁর সম্প্রদায় তাঁকে রক্তাক্ত করে দিয়েছে, আর তিনি তাঁর চেহারা থেকে রক্ত মুছছেন এবং বলছেন, ’’হে আল্লাহ! তুমি আমার সম্প্রদায়কে ক্ষমা করে দাও। কেননা তারা অজ্ঞ।’’ (বুখারী ও মুসলিম) [1]
بَابُ الْعَفْوِ وَالْإِعْرَاضِ عَنِ الْجَاهِلِيْنَ - (75)
وَعَنِ ابنِ مَسعُودٍ رضي الله عنه، قَالَ: كَأَنِّي أَنظُرُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَحْكِي نَبِيّاً مِنَ الأَنبِيَاءِ، صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ وَسَلامُه عَلَيْهِمْ، ضَرَبَهُ قَوْمُهُ فَأدْمَوْهُ، وَهُوَ يَمْسَحُ الدَّمَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ، ويَقُولُ: « اَللهم اغْفِرْ لِقَوْمِي ؛ فَإنَّهُمْ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ ». متفقٌ عَلَيْهِ
(75) Chapter: Forgiveness of the Ignorant
Ibn Mas'ud (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
I can see the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) look like one of the Prophets of Allah whose people beat and made him bleed while he was wiping the blood from his face and supplicating: "O Allah, forgive my people because they know not."
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
Commentary: The `Ulama' say that by relating the painful incident of a Prophet, Messenger of Allah (PBUH) in fact implied his own experience at the hands of his people. Indeed, this expresses his extreme numbleness that he vaguely described his bitter self-experience without bringing into light the unthinking persecutors of his nation.
