পরিচ্ছেদঃ ১৫৫: জানাযার নামায পড়া, জানাযার সাথে যাওয়া, তাকে কবরস্থ করার কাজে অংশ নেওয়ার মাহাত্ম্য এবং জানাযার সাথে মহিলাদের যাওয়া নিষেধ
২/৯৩৫। উক্ত রাবী (আবূ হুরায়রাহ রা.) হতে বর্ণিত, রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেন, ’’যে ব্যক্তি (আল্লাহর প্রতি) বিশ্বাস রেখে এবং নেকীর আশা রেখে কোনো মুসলিমের জানাযার সাথে যাবে এবং তার জানাযার নামায পড়া এবং তাকে দাফন করা পর্যন্ত তার সাথে থাকবে, সে দু’ ক্বীরাত্ব সওয়াব নিয়ে (বাড়ি) ফিরবে। এক ক্বীরাত উহুদ পাহাড়ের সমান। আর যে ব্যক্তি জানাযার নামায পড়ে মৃতকে সমাধিস্থ করার পূর্বেই ফিরে আসবে, সে এক কীরাত্ব সওয়াব নিয়ে (বাড়ি) ফিরবে।’’ (বুখারী) [1]
(155) بَابُ الصَّلَاةِ عَلَى الْمَيِّتِ وَتَشْيِيْعِهِ وَحُضُوْرِ دَفْنِهِوَكَرَاهَةِ اِتِّبَاعِ النِّسَاءِ الْجَنَائِزَ
وَعَنْه: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صلى الله عليه وسلم، قَالَ: مَنِ اتَّبَعَ جَنَازَةَ مُسْلِمٍ إِيمَاناً وَاحْتِسَاباً، وَكَانَ مَعَهُ حَتَّى يُصَلَّى عَلَيْهَا وَيُفرَغَ مِنْ دَفْنِهَا، فَإنَّهُ يَرْجِعُ مِنَ الأَجْرِ بِقيراطَيْنِ كُلُّ قِيرَاطٍ مِثْلُ أُحُدٍ، وَمَنْ صَلَّى عَلَيْهَا، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ قَبْلَ أنْ تُدْفَنَ، فَإنَّهُ يَرْجِعُ بِقيرَاطٍ . رواه البخاري
(155) Chapter: Participation in Funeral Prayer and Procession and the dislike of Women Participating in the Funeral Procession
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Whosoever attends the funeral of a Muslim believing and hoping for the reward from Allah and remains with it until the prayer is offered over it and the burial is completed, he will return with a reward of two Qirat; each Qirat is equivalent to Mount Uhud; and whosoever offers his prayer over it and returns before its burial, he will come back with one Qirat."

Commentary: This Hadith explains that the only person who will earn the rewards for participating in the funeral prayer is the one who does it only to fulfill the Commands of Allah in order to seek His Pleasure. It will be denied to him in case his intention is based on social, political and family considerations.
